The official name of the country is the Kingdom of Cambodia, located in the southern region of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. However, the wet season is still a wonderful time to visit; downpours are usually short and sharp, transforming the foliage around Angkor into a lush, vibrant green and filling the ancient temple moats with water. Note: Travel to isolated, rural areas can become challenging during heavy rains.
